I'd like to borrow here from our brothers at Rotten Tomatoes and say Let Me In is one of those rare reboots that manages to not, "add insult to inspiration". Director, Matt Reeves, takes an already intriguing and juicy plot from the Swedish original, Let The Right One In, and elegantly infuses a bit of Hollywood charm. His perfect cast led by two powerhouse kid actors, Chloe Grace Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee, breath brutally human life into the characters, casting an honest and believable light on the otherworldly, macabre premise. While it's the writing and acting that do the heavy lifting, the flick's artful, brooding, noir cinematography plus its perfectly executed practical effects and creature make-ups are a big part of what make this piece stand out in the genre. Let Me In is a must-watch for any cinephile - horror heads, indy snobs, and garbage pails kids alike.
