SYNOPSIS

STREAM follows Marina, a beauty influencer, as she celebrates reaching 20K followers with a live Q&A. But when one of her followers insists on bringing up a long-forgotten horror project from her past, things take a strange turn. As she reluctantly revisits the topic, unsettling events begin to unfold during her livestream, blurring the lines between reality and terror.

DIRECTOR STATEMENT
STREAM is a meta short horror film, a true labor of love from Marina and myself. It's a one-take descent into madness, unfolding through a live stream that spirals into a brutal confrontation with the darkest of past demons.

DIRECTOR BIO
David E. Teixeira is a French-born, Portugal-raised filmmaker with a degree in filmmaking. He began his career in 2016 with the horror short film Girls Night, which earned festival recognition, including at Midsummer Scream in Los Angeles and the London x4 Seasonal Short Film Festival. In 2017, he followed up with a sequel, Girls Night 2, and combined both films into an anthology available on Amazon Prime and Google Play.

Teixeira's subsequent projects include Ouroboros, a horror short about a woman trapped in a castle, and Mannequin, a body horror film that won the Best Poster award at the Northern Frights Festival. Mannequin is available on TruIndie, and Teixeira later teamed up with actress Lea N'Kaoua on a prequel to Ouroboros, Mater, which was also included in a compilation titled In Utero.

In 2020, Teixeira released Play. Pause. Kill., a feminist slasher short that garnered festival success and won Best Horror Film at FROSTBITE International Indie Fest. He then made Visiteur in 2020, a mini short inspired by Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and STREAM the next year, a meta horror film set in the Girls Night universe. Both films were selected for FilmShortage, with Stream winning a statue at Gardunha Fest.

After relocating to Lisbon in 2021, Teixeira wrote and directed Final Gasp and Drama Queen, both of which were well-received at festivals. Drama Queen earned Best Short Film of the Month at Short of the Month in October 2024. He is currently working on two feature horror films centered on mermaids and a readaptation of Final Gasp. He's the creative director of the online horror festival, Embrace Your Darkness, to support independent queer filmmakers.
