SYNOPSIS
After losing his life in the ocean, Mort awakes to the grizzly sight of his body desecrated by a seemingly malicious surgeon, Viv, and is mortified by the absence of his heart. Through Hijinx and mishaps, he uses his body and his organs to attempt to pursue and retrieve his heart, while she is in a desperate attempt to give the heart to her dying sister, Hope. Through his escapade in the hospital, Mort learns to let go of his past to help Hope create her future.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
I'm David Mzolo, an artist passionate about storytelling through animation. For this project, my team and I aimed to create a moving painting using 3D animation with a 2D aesthetic. This unique approach gave the film a warm, comforting feel, blending the depth of 3D with the charm of 2D art. We’ve put our hearts into this film, and we hope its heartfelt story resonates with audiences. It’s been a rewarding experience bringing this vision to life, and we’re excited for people to experience the beauty and emotion of the world we've created.
