SYNOPSIS

A young woman suffers from violent visions while she is waiting for the subway...

DIRECTOR STATEMENT
With Clairvoyance, I aimed to create an intense sensory experience that challenges and unsettles the viewer. The film follows a young woman plagued by violent visions while navigating the claustrophobic space of the metro. Her encounter with a mysterious man—one who shares an inexplicably violent connection with her—unfolds as a visceral exploration of fear, trauma, and the unknown.

The visual identity of Clairvoyance is rooted in its 1.66:1 aspect ratio, a deliberate nod to the European cinematic tradition and a reflection of the film’s Belgian origins. The gritty, textured aesthetic further amplifies the raw, tactile, and disquieting atmosphere I sought to evoke. This grainy look mirrors the psychological unease of the protagonist, immersing the audience in her fractured reality.

Through this short film, I sought not only to tell a story but to provoke a visceral reaction—a cinematic experience that lingers in the mind and senses long after the viewing.

DIRECTOR BIO
Self-taught and passionate filmmaker, Brandon Gotto directed his first test feature film in 2019. This film taught him a lot and guided him toward a unique path of his own. In 2022, his second feature film, which he considers his 'true first,' was released: Gravidam, selected at the 40th anniversary of the renowned Belgian fantasy festival, the BIFFF. In 2023, he won the Best Drama award at the annual RED MOVIE AWARDS ceremony in Reims for his second feature film Ida. In 2024, he reunited with his favorite actresses for Pandaemonium, a horror film about demonic possession, which became a hit on YouTube and streaming platforms. In 2025 his new feature film "IRIS" will be released, the burning portrait of a young woman in search of love and acceptance.
