DIRECTOR STATEMENT
I wanted to make something that was quick and quirky. Something that could tell a full narrative within a very short time; while having a complete story arch and twist. The idea of two actors stuck in a TV - having to play out their lives popping in and out of TV shows and being in control of someone else (the viewer) intrigued me. What would happen if they tried taking revenge on that person controlling them?

DIRECTOR BIO
Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Ziyaad has been involved in many industries but always had a desire for story telling. Ziyaad has an Engineering Degree from the University of Witwatersrand and an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science. Shifting from business and engineering, Ziyaad decided to focus on his passion for filmmaking. In 2020, during the pandemic, Ziyaad had his filming making debut through writing, directing and co-starring in The Lockdown (2021), a ScreenLife Genre, found footage, thriller film, capturing the psychological effects of the pandemic on a group of four friends. The film won 7 awards including 2021 Winner CICFF Award for Debut Filmmaker.
