PRESENTS

I always forget how quiet this movie really is. Its a little over endulgent. lots of long beauty shots of the set. It is a gorgeous set and particulary imprssive considering when the movie was made, but the pacing drags a little in some spots. I also dont like how alot of the action plays in quick cuts and strobes. Its dificult to get a real idea of the anatomy of the fully grown alien until the end and in that reveal it looks alot like a guy in a suit. Even if the execution isn't at 100 percent for me, the immense amount of thought and design that went into this monster is very apparent and makes up for any like in the presentation. I love the dialogue, it feels very real and understated. The characters are believable, the sounds are super cool and unique. its a groundbreaking creature feature.
