SYNOPSIS
Inside her small apartment, Amelia finds herself immerse in an identity crisis which drives her through a deep reflection about her past, present, and future. The first step implies to recognize herself in her own reflection.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Animated adaptation, through the Stop Motion cutout technique, of the poem “Cambio”, by Axtli Jiménez Sigüenza. In a short film of psychological horror, it delves into the conflicts of identity through the character of Amelia. The goal is that the viewer identifies with the character through the change that happens when each of us cross different stages of our lives.
DIRECTOR BIO
Student at the Universidad de la Comunicación (University of Communication) majoring in Animation, winner of best artistic work with his work "Los Nueve Niveles del Inframundo" (The Nine Levels of the Underworld), for the Honor Talents Global Design Award LATAM region division competition, in the 2023 edition, which was held in the Museo de Arte Moderno (Museum of Modern Art) in Mexico City, and which was exhibited on the Culturas Amigas promenade, among several winning works.
Participant and nominee for his animation proposal called A Dungeon Adventure, on the university catwalk of the CutOut Fest Int. Animation Festival event, 2023 edition in Querétaro, Mexico.
He began to venture into developing his own project for an animated series at the age of 17, called A Dungeon Adventure. This series focuses on the themes of adventure, science fiction, magic, fantasy and adolescence, using the 2D digital animation technique, and is currently in the development process.
His goal is to work at the Dreamworks animation company, as well as specialize in 2D animation and character design. His main inspirations are the authors Hiroyuki Imaish author of Kill la kill, Rebecca Sugar author of Steven Universe, Pendleton Ward author of Adventure Time, Patrick McHale author of Beyond the Garden, Anthony Roux author of Wakfu, Justin Sun author of Tron and Alex Hirsch author of Gravity Falls.
Proficient with Clip Studio Paint, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Maya, Adobe Animate and Unreal Engine programs.
