To gain any hope of enjoying the cool action sequences, sprawling set designs and exciting stunts/FX work that 2005's The Cave undoubtedly has to offer, you've got to dive deep. Past the derivative plot line and trope laden characters, past the quick cut and shakey camera work hiding half the action, through the gaping plot holes, and deeper still, beneath the phoned in performances. There's some some juicy early 00's nostalgia hidden deep down in The Cave, but only the most determined creature feature spelunkers will have the skills to reach it.
