'Dark Was the Night' and bad was the movie. There's a difference between playing with shadows for effect and just having a dark movie. If a movie is going to make me wait over 90 minutes too see any more of the creature than some hind claws and hoof prints It better be a damn spectacular looking beast by the time I actually see it. It could have been fun with just a little more developed dialogue, some higher quality lighting and cinematography, some better actors, some better CGI... It was all just sub par. Nice deer carcass though.
