DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Timing's off is a story about the illusion of safety and the credibility of screens. I am a Puerto Rican American born in the Bronx who was brought to one of the wealthiest suburbs in America at a young age. Rockland county is a place where people live in million dollar homes. Million dollar homes that insulate them from the danger that lurks outside. In Timing's Off, we take a look at the intersection of those insulators and the phenomenon of the 24 hour news cycle to ask the questions: “Are we really ever safe?” “Are we doomed?” “Is our fate sealed by the chyrons floating past the bottom of the screen?
