obsession and the consequences of a fractured mind.

DIRECTOR BIO
JESSEY NELSON is a Canadian-born filmmaker from Vancouver, BC. He is a multi-talented artist, working as a director, writer, producer, and actor. Jessey is best known for his short film CRUMBS, which he co-directed with his brother Cody and co-wrote with Kyle Siemens. CRUMBS was selected by the Vancouver Crazy 8's Film Society in 2021 and has had a successful festival run, receiving official selections around the world. Jessey and Kyle have developing CRUMBS into a comic book currently available online. In 2019, Jessey co-founded the Smashed Potato Kids sketch comedy crew with his brother Cody and fellow Vancouver filmmaker Filip Zivanovic. Together, Cody and Jessey have co-directed sketches such as Zoom Bombing Mormons and No Hug Policy, which were selected for the 2020 and 2021 San Diego Film Festival. Jessey and Cody have several projects in development under SPK Productions as they continue to co-direct film projects and build up the sketch comedy show for the Smashed Potato Kids. Recently, Jessey teamed up with filmmaker Dani Barker to release their current short film, AI ARTIST, which was selected as a Top 10 Finalist at the RUNWAY AI FILM FESTIVAL. After receiving positive feedback and encouragement to create more, they are developing AI ARTIST into a series. With his talent and dedication to his craft, Jessey is poised to continue creating innovative and entertaining content for audiences around the world.

DANI BARKER is an award-winning multi-hyphenate filmmaker and actor. Her films have screened at more than 40 festivals globally. Her feature film Follow Her brought home 6 Audience Awards (Austin Film Festival being one of them), 5 Best Films Awards and over a dozen other awards in the Best Actress and Best Director category (Filmquest, etc.) and is now available to rent on Amazon Prime. In addition, Dani has been the visionary behind other projects that she helmed, scripted and starred in, including Starvival, The Unprofessionals, which she produced, wrote, and played the lead; and Squirm, produced for Canada’s OUTtv. More recently, Dani joined Tall Pines Entertainment as CEO with several projects in development, including the psychological feature thriller, In the Cracks, that she wrote with co-writer and producing partner Erin Boyes. In the Cracks is slated to shoot late 2023. This will be Dani’s first feature as director.
