PRESENTS

Really nice attention to detail story wise. Lots of little props and set deck that push the narrative. The creature's design is nice, but a little less thought through than some of the other elements of the film. The head is really cool and original, but then they just kind of slapped it on the generic slenderman with claws body (stranger things, alien). The pacing of the movie is very "sprint, rest, sprint, rest", so there were definitely moments that felt like they were dragging. The characters are nice and well rounded, the dialogue feels natural and real. The creature is entirely CGI and has no real, practical interaction with the actors or the set, which is minus points for me. That said, the CGI is really expertly done, so it still looks fucking awesome.
